Founder, The Scalable Painter™ and The Unlimited Contractor™

Chris Wysokowski

I started my painting business in 2009 with a brush, a belief in my craft, and almost no understanding of what running a real business actually required.

I came from a lower-class background where any income felt like success.

So when work started coming in, I thought I was winning.

What I didn't see was that I was charging too little, working too hard, and building a business that depended entirely on me never stopping.

Word spread about the quality of my work.

It also spread that my services were cheap.

I had created a cycle I couldn't get out of. More work, thinner margins, no stability, and a growing weight that started bleeding into every part of my life.

From the outside, things looked fine.

From the inside, I was holding everything together with nothing.

The financial pressure didn't stay at work. It came home.

My marriage suffered. My relationships suffered.

At one point I was building a business and losing everything else that mattered.

It wasn't until I made a decision to stop just working in the business and start working on it, and on myself, that things began to change.

I started reading. Attending events. Taking courses.

Listening to people who had figured out what I was still trying to understand.

What I learned was this.

The problem was never effort. The problem was the absence of structure.

I didn't have a system for how leads were handled.

No defined process for consultations.

No structure around pricing.

No follow-up discipline.

No way to measure whether I was capturing the opportunity that already existed inside every job I completed.

I was working hard inside a business that had no operating system.

Once I understood that, everything changed.

WHY THIS EXISTS

I built The Scalable Painter because I spent years inside the same frustration most painting contractors are living right now.

Not because of a lack of skill. Not because of a lack of work ethic.

But because nobody ever showed them how to build a business that runs on structure instead of hustle.

I also built The Unlimited Contractor because I learned the hard way that you cannot build a stable business without first becoming a stable leader.

The business will always reflect the person running it.

When I was reactive, the business was reactive.

When I got clear, the business got clear.

Both of these systems exist because I needed them and they didn't exist.

Everything I teach came from living the problem, solving it the hard way, and then spending years refining what actually works inside real painting businesses.

This is not theory.

This is field-tested from the inside of the industry over 25 years, including the years it didn't work.

What The Scalable Painter Stands For

The Scalable Painter exists to help residential painting business owners build a business that exceeds expectations on every level.

For the client. For the team. For the owner.

Most painting business owners are stuck in the same place I was. Working harder than anyone they know inside a business that gives back less than it should. Chasing leads when the real opportunity is sitting inside the work they are already doing. Paying their team what is fair when they want to pay them what they are actually worth. Delivering good paint jobs when they want to deliver an experience their clients can't stop talking about.

The Scalable Painter installs the systems, standards, and structure that close that gap.

For the client, an experience that exceeds anything they have had with a contractor before. From the first conversation to long after the job is done.

For the team, above market pay, clear leadership, and a career path with real growth. A place good guys want to stay.

For the owner, a business that runs with intention instead of hustle. Real income. Real time at home. A business strong enough to weather a slow month without anyone in it feeling it.

The standard is exceeding expectations.

On every level. For everyone involved.

That is what the Scalable Painter is built to install.

WHAT I FOCUS ON

I focus on one thing for painting contractors.

Installing structure where guesswork used to exist.

That structure shows up across every part of the business.

Pricing built on real margin instead of reaction to volume.

A consultation and follow-up process that closes more of the right work and walks away from the rest.

Every project producing referrals, reviews, radius exposure, upsells, and future work by design.

A team that operates inside clear systems with clear expectations.

A 5 star client experience from the first conversation to a lifetime relationship.

At the center of all of it are two proprietary metrics I developed to measure how a painting business actually performs from lead to lifetime client.

The RES, or Revenue Engine Score, measures the front end of the business. How effectively leads move through the consultation, pricing, and follow-up process and convert into closed work at the right margin.

The SPMS, or Scalable Painter Multiplier Score, measures the back end. How effectively each completed project is producing more than the invoice. Referrals, reviews, radius exposure, upsells, and future work.

Together, RES and SPMS form a two-layer measurement system that tracks the leading indicators most painting businesses are missing entirely.

Most painting businesses track revenue, job size, and close rate. Those are lagging indicators. They tell you what already happened.

RES and SPMS measure the behaviors that produce those results before they show up in the numbers.

When the front end and the back end are both measured and improved, revenue stability follows.

That is not motivation. That is measurement.

WHO THIS IS FOR

If you are a residential painting contractor doing $350,000 or more annually and revenue still feels inconsistent, unpredictable, or harder than it should be, this was built for you.

Not for beginners. Not for contractors looking for motivation or tactics.

For serious operators who are ready to install structure, measure what matters, and build a business that exceeds expectations for the client, the team, and themselves.

That is what this system was built to do.

And it starts with knowing where you stand.

Where to Start

If you want to see exactly where your business stands, start with a free Scalable Painter Session.

Thirty minutes. You walk away with your SPMS score, the Opportunity Gap inside your existing workload, and a clear picture of where to focus first.

At the end of the session, I will tell you the most logical next step based on what we find.

Clarity comes before installation.

And installation starts with an honest look at where you are right now.
